Welcome to Wivenhoe Town Council

On our website and facebook page you’ll find information about facilities and services we maintain in Wivenhoe. With a population of approximately 7,500 located on the Essex coast on the banks of the river Colne, approximately 3 miles (4.8 km) south east of Colchester, we are in the Harwich and North Essex Parliamentary Constituency.

Wivenhoe Town Council consists of a maximum of 13 elected members to promote and watch over the interests of the town. We are the most local level of government but not affiliated to any particular political party. The next tier up is your Ward Councillors who sit on various committees at Colchester City Council. The tier above them is the County Councillor who represents the town at the Essex County Council meetings.
