Welcome to Wivenhoe Town Council

On our website you’ll find information about the facilities and services we maintain for Wivenhoe. With a population of approximately 12,000 located on the Essex coast on the banks of the river Colne, approximately 3 miles (4.8 km) south east of Colchester, we are in the Harwich and North Essex Parliamentary Constituency.

Wivenhoe Town Council consists of 7 elected members to promote and watch over the interests of the town. We are the most local level of government but not affiliated to any particular political party. The next tier up are your Ward Councillors who sit on various committees at Colchester Borough Council. The tier above them is the County Councillor who represents the town at the Essex County Council meetings.

Wivenhoe Town Mayor and Consort for 2021-2022 is Cllr. Andrea Luxford Vaughan and Dan Luxford. Deputy Town Mayor for 2021-2022 is Cllr. Glyn Evans.
