An Extraordinary Meeting of Wivenhoe Town Council will be held virtually at 6.00pm on Wednesday 8 July 2020 for consideration of the business set out below.

This meeting can be held virtually by virtue of The Local Authorities and Police and Crime Panels (Coronavirus) (Flexibility of Local Authority and Police and Crime Panel Meetings) (England & Wales) Regulations 2020.

  1. Apologies for absence: To receive apologies.

  1. Declarations of interest: To receive any pecuniary and non-pecuniary interests relating to items on the agenda.

  1. Regulatory compliance; To be considered

  1. Planning Considerations; The Wivenhoe Neighbourhood Plan, Policy Wiv8 lists this piece of land as protected for the duration of the plan period. It is proposed that we inform the auctioneers of this planning status.

  2. Proposal; That Wivenhoe Town Council purchase the piece of land between The Avenue and Ernest Road which is currently up for auction. Should acquisition of this land be successful, it will be used for the provision of public amenity.

  1. Establish a Working Group

  1. Exclusion of press and public: In accordance with Paragraph 1 (2) of The Public Bodies (Admission to Meetings) Act 1960, the Council is invited to consider if the press and public should be excluded from the meeting during the consideration of the following item(s) owing to the confidential nature of the business.


10 To discuss and agree upon the financial limit that the Working Group will take to auction.
