David first came to know Wivenhoe when he studied at the University of Essex in 1966. Some years later he moved with his family to Wivenhoe (and to the boat he was restoring here), for several very happy years.
Until he retired in 2021, he spent 12 years living, working, sailing and rescuing seals and sea lions in San Francisco.
David has now relocated back to Wivenhoe to be close to his daughters and granddaughters. He wanted to be able to give something back to the community, so that he volunteered to join the Council.
David is a recently co-opted member and, as yet, he has not become active on any committees.
