Dubbed by the blues and soul cognoscenti as ‘the next big thing’, Connolly Hayes is already creating a stir within and beyond the blues/rock/soul community, based mainly on the reputations of principal members Frankie Connolly and Jess Hayes.
The band already has a stellar reputation for live performances thanks to two of the most soulful voices around, guitar wizardry from both sides of the stage, and the grooviest rhythm section going.
A blues-fuelled, soulful singer/songwriter with a powerhouse voice, Jess first emerged onto the South London scene as a teenager, having been raised on the classic sounds of artists and bands such as Stevie Nicks, Bad Company, Bonnie Raitt, and Little Feat by her musician parents.
Rapidly gained a reputation among those in the know, as well as being the ‘go-to’ singer of choice for ex-Mud member and noted songwriter Rob Davis, Jess received some prime-time exposure on ITV’s The Voice, turning all four chairs. More importantly, she has found her own ‘voice’ as a songwriter with this new project with her friend Frankie, who himself has gained a stellar reputation as both a great singer and astonishing guitar player, wowing crowds wherever he has played, including Ronnie Scott’s and several major festivals.
However, Connolly Hayes isn’t just a duo but a fully-fledged band, featuring an ultra-tight rhythm section, and have released their debut album, Remember Me, to coincide with an extensive European and UK tour.
Hold on tight; it should be quite a ride!
