Dear Resident/Business owner
Advance notice: Carriageway resurfacing on Rectory Road, Rectory Hill & Alresford Road, Wivenhoe, Colchester
We are writing to advise you that following recent drainage and kerb improvements Essex Highways will be undertaking resurfacing works on Rectory Road, Wivenhoe.
The works are due to commence on Monday 10 May 2021 and expected to take approximately two weeks to complete.
The works will be carried out Monday to Friday between the hours or 8am to 5pm.
In order to support these works it will be necessary for a road closure to be in place on Rectory Road during working hours only.
Advance warning notices will be used to advertise the works and appropriate diversions in place during temporary road closures.
The road will open after each shift.
During working hours we respectfully ask that you do not park your vehicle on the carriageway of Rectory Road, Rectory Hill or Alresford Road during our surfacing works, as full access will be
required by our plant and equipment.
Our operatives can provide parking guidance if needed.
We aim to support residents on the closed section of road as much as possible if vehicular access is required while we are working however there may be a delay depending on the location and activities being conducted at the time (such as waiting for hot materials to set).
There may be periods when driveway access will be temporarily restricted within the closed section of road and recommend that should you have advance knowledge that vehicular access is required that you park your vehicle in a safe place, a distance away from the work area
Please allow additional travelling time and take care to observe traffic management and signage in place.
We appreciate these works may cause temporary noise and inconvenience to local residents and businesses for which we would like to apologise.
For general enquiries contact the Essex County Council customer service team by telephone: 0345 603 7631 or by completing the online form: www.essex.gov.uk/enquiries.
Please note that the work programme may be subject to change if the works are affected by poor weather or if unforeseen issues arise.
We would like to thank you in advance for your co-operation while we carry out these essential works
