What are we missing? Community event to discuss issues around covid-19, January 2021

Published: 14th January 2021

The health and care system in Suffolk and north east Essex is hosting an event for local people to find out about issues relating to the COVID-19 vaccination.

They want to hear your questions about the vaccination and any issues you may wish to raise relating to matters such as ingredients, side effects and how to obtain the vaccines. While this event is open to everyone, it is particularly aimed at ‘seldom heard’ groups and those people from Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic communities.

These are unprecedented times, and this roll out of the vaccination is a fast-moving situation. Communities across Suffolk and north east Essex need to have the opportunity to ask their questions. Their panel of experts will do their best to answer your questions but please be aware they may not be able to answer them all right now. Please be reassured any questions they cannot answer yet will be taken away and they will share answers as soon as they are available.

The expert panel will include Executive Lead Suffolk and North East Essex Integrated Care System, Dr Ed Garratt; Director of Public Health, Suffolk County Council, Stuart Keeble; Ipswich GP, Dr Juno Jesuthasan; local community leader Gulshan Kayembe; Business and Operations Director at Ipswich and Suffolk Council for Racial Equality, Phanuel Mutumburi; CEO Healthwatch Suffolk, Andy Yacoub; and Chair, North East Essex Clinical Commissioning Group, Dr Hasan Chowhan.
