The theme for this event is 'what has kept you well in lockdown' – please share your thoughts with us- this could be in pictures or words To attend contact townclerk@wivenhoe.gov.uk   Do you fancy trying something new that will enhance your sense of wellbeing?  Sandrine invites you to come and experience the benefits of Sophrology, a gentle guided practice, also called “dynamic relaxation”, which combines quick, simple physical and breathing exercises with short visualisations, and helps to generate an overall sense of vitality and well-being by tapping into our inner resources for balance, calm and positivity. All you need for the session is a chair! The sessions are free and open to everyone.

Baking, Running, Aerobics, Writing and Poetry

Join a child friendly baking session, watch Wivenhoe Running Club beginner videos, 30 minute Shimmy'n'Groove aerobics, LIVE writing for well being and join LIVE Poetry Wivenhoe for a potpourri of poetry
 
  • Bake with the Chubby Badger: Based locally the Chubby Badger specialises in French pastries and seasonal bakes created by a Le Cordon Bleu trained pastry chef. Join them for this child friendly baking session.
  • Wivenhoe Running Club: The club will be releasing Beginners Running videos on their Facebook page; https://www.facebook.com/wivenhoerunners 
  • 30 Minutes Aerobics: Aerobics with Shimmy’n’Groove! This session will improve all elements of fitness such as flexibility, muscular strength and cardio.5.30pm

Developing a regular writing habit in a journal can be a wonderful meditative and mindful start to the day. In this session, Fi Mason from Wivenhoe based Word After Word will guide you through some easy and playful writing activities that will help release any tensions and worries you have in a creative and affirming way. Join if you would like to find the ‘write’ way forward!     This group has been around since 2007.  In normal times they promote live poetry events each month, their usual venue being the Royal British Legion.  They now hold the events by Zoom, so there is no specific limit on numbers.  For this forthcoming event, they have a dozen readers lined up for a potpourri of poetry! Come along, and we guarantee it won’t take long before we’re all doing some genuine, deep and hearty laughing… Something we surely all need a bit more of right now.

Enjoy a LIVE 60 minute slow and flow taster class for mixed abilities
  Colchester Pilates is offering a live online 'Slow & Flow' taster class. A mixed-ability class blending traditional and power Pilates. Expect a 60 minute flowing class that will suit people with some previous Pilates experience. You will need access to Zoom and enough space for an exercise mat.
