Staff have noticed sites in the woods and surrounding areas where there have been camp fires and/or BBQs.

Yesterday’s brief shower may have dampened the ground for a few minutes, but it hasn’t reduced the risk of fire. After weeks of hot, dry weather, grass, crops and vegetation remain extremely dry and can ignite and spread fire very quickly.
With a hosepipe ban now in place across most of our county, conditions remain exceptionally dry. We’re asking everyone to help reduce the risk by avoiding:
-Fireworks
-Bonfires
-Disposable BBQs and BBQs on dry grass
One spark is all it takes to start a fire that can spread rapidly, threaten homes, wildlife and farmland, and tie up emergency resources.
Please help us keep our communities safe by leaving fireworks, bonfires and BBQs until conditions improve
