The PANDAS Foundation opens a new support group in Wivenhoe, for parents or carers who may
be struggling with their mental health, from conception through to birth and beyond. Thanks to The
Balcombe Trust, PANDAS Foundation is rolling out new group openings in 2025, available for
parents or carers.
From Tuesday, 11 November, parents or carers will be able to access a free face-to-face group
that will support them in their mental health. The group, led by the UK’s leading perinatal mental
health charity, PANDAS Foundation, aims to make sure no parent, family or carer feels alone. The
charity has a variety of support services available to ensure help is delivered in a way that is right
for everyone. PANDAS offers a bridge between the NHS and parents through their peer support,
which is free and has no waiting list.
Led by PANDAS Foundation-trained and supervised Group Facilitators, the support groups will offer
a calm community for parents or carers who may be struggling. They provide a safe space for you
and your baby or toddler, where you can meet other parents or carers to chat, listen and share
your experiences.
“We are incredibly proud and excited to welcome on board our newest group in Wivenhoe to this
wonderful charity. We know through the work that we have already carried out in many other areas
of the UK, how invaluable our face-to-face support groups are in supporting the local community. I
would like to take this opportunity to thank The Balcombe Trust, our new group facilitator, Jaime.
And huge thanks to St. Mary’s Church for supporting the running of this group.”
