Site Investigation Data – High Street Car Park

At the request of Wivenhoe Town Council, Aviva have agreed to release the attached site investigation data regarding the trees to be felled in the High Street car park

Further relevant points they wish to be known are:

• Ground conditions have been confirmed to be susceptible to moisture induced, root related subsidence
• The implicated trees are considered to be well within the “zone of influence” and this has been confirmed through borehole digging
• Roots have been located in proximity to the foundations
• Level monitoring demonstrates seasonal movement that is consistent with root related subsidence
• Drainage failure has been investigated

Aviva go on to state that ‘Whilst it is always sad to see trees being removed, when balancing all of the arguments, felling is considering to be the most viable engineering and environmental solution to the ongoing problem that exists.’
