Wivenhoe Town Council is continuing to work hard to reopen the high street car park as per the agreement negotiated between the protester’s barrister and WTC’s lawyer. Contrary to an online post from the protesters, WTC is not seeking clearance with governance processes. We are consulting the insurers to ensure the agreement poses no financial or legal risk to the council; this is taking slightly longer than hoped, but it is our legal responsibility to undertake due diligence.
Whilst the protesters are still on site, please use the town’s other car parks, located at Cooks Shipyard and Wivenhoe railway station. There is also on street parking available, but please be aware that some roads are subject to restrictions between 7.45am to 8.45am.
If you are a Blue Badge holder, please feel free to use the disabled space at the William Loveless Hall.
