Refuse & Recycling

Refuse and recycling collections in the town are provided by Colchester City Council who are also responsible for emptying the litter bins around the town.

If you need recycling supplies, please visit www.colchester.gov.uk to place an order for collection from the self service click and collect recycling hub in the council yard* behind the Council Offices. Blue bags for textile recycling can be ordered from essextextiles.co.uk.

*Please note that while the office refurbishment is taking place, the self service click and collect recycling hub is temporarily located at the front of the William Loveless Hall.

The town and city council recently worked together to provide another set of recycling bins on De Vere Lane, to recycle glass facilities. We also provides weekly litter picking in the town throughout the year and if there are any areas that you feel need attention, please contact the Council Offices. We have also installed wheelie bins outside the entrance to the William Loveless for residents to drop off plastic items such as pens, biscuits and crisps wrappers for recycling.

Food caddy liners and doggy bags at £1 each roll can be purchased from the Council Offices. Please note that while the office refurbishment is taking place, they can be purchased from the William Loveless Hall lobby Monday/Wednesday/Friday 9.30am to 12.30 midday.
